Our Story
For more than 40 years, Captain Smokey has been exploring the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River coastal area, sharing the kind of local knowledge you only earn by growing up on the water. Today, he runs every trip with his first mate Colton by his side — a great team who love teaching beginners, guiding seasoned anglers, and creating unforgettable moments for families.
They proudly welcome veterans, first responders, kids, and guests with disabilities. Whether you’re casting a line, spotting dolphins, saying goodbye to a loved one, starting your life together or simply soaking in the coastal breeze, Captain Smokey and Colton make every guest feel like part of the crew. Their mission is simple: share their lifelong passion for the ocean and help people experience the water the way they do — with respect, joy, and a sense of adventure.

Colton’s love for the water started at age 11 on his very first fishing trip — he was hooked instantly. Growing up on these waters shaped him into a patient, kid friendly teacher who loves helping others discover their own passion for the sea.
From the Puget Sound in Washington to the shores of Florida, Colton has had so many adventures. Coming back to the Indian River Coastal Area, he knows these waters like home, making him the perfect partner for any adventure. Knowing the ocean would always be part of his life, he joined Todd’s team, where the two have spent over eight years working side-by-side.
After apprenticing with Todd for two years, Colton stepped confidently into the profession and has spent the last six years mastering the charter world — all with the goal of running his own rig one day.
And in his free time? You guessed it — he’s still on the water, fishing from his 23ft center console.

The Indian River is a scenic stretch of Florida’s east coast, known for calm brackish waters, incredible wildlife, and some of the best fishing around. Redfish, snapper, snook, tarpon, mullet, dolphins, and manatees all thrive here, making it a favorite spot for anglers, boaters, kayakers, and anyone who loves the water.
Sebastian, FL is a small, historic riverfront town with a relaxed, lived‑in coastal vibe. Rooted in fishing and waterfront life, it offers deep river access, beautiful views, and a slower pace that feels worlds away from crowded beaches. It’s the perfect place to explore, unwind, and experience authentic Florida on the water.
